Flower Petals
Pattern 0126-3C
Material: SouthMaid Mercerized crochet cotton
Completed May 2004. I made some of these in cream Giant thread too. These are machine washable and easy to block, I just spread them on a towel and pat into shape taking a bit of care to shape the petal tips. They make a large coaster or are great in pairs for displaying candle sticks or for a candy dish. |

Pinwheel

Material: SouthMaid Mercerized crochet cotton
Completed in December 2003. This large doily is in the "table topper" category. The pinwheel center is fairly dense while the outer part is more lacy. |

Berka Shells
Pattern 0126-6C
Material: SouthMaid Mercerized crochet cotton
Completed January 17 and 19, 2004. My mom liked this pattern a lot. You can also make a smaller, coaster size doily by adding the scalloped edge after the first shells are completed. |

The photo to the left shows a variation on the Berka Shells pattern. I use these for a place setting. The larger doily in KnitCroSheen is 8 inches across and the coaster in SouthMaid is 4.5 inches across. Alternate borderAfter round 7 (or the final solid ring of double crochet stitches) chain 7, * sc in 4th dc, ch 3, sc in next dc, ch 4, repeat from * ending with joining ch 4 to 3rd chain of first ch 7. CoasterTo make a coaster, or third size, work rounds 1-5, then 12-13. |

Grapevine
Pattern 0126-2C
Material: SouthMaid Mercerized crochet cotton
I made this for a friend for a bridal shower present. The design is quite open and she loved it, but it is a booger to block. You need to put pins in the inside as well as the points. Fortunately the recipient decided to frame the doily, so it may never need to be blocked again. |
