The knitter's chart paper has a grid set up for 5 stitches per inch horizontal and 7 rows per inch on the vertical. It can be used for charting color patterns or knit and purl texture patterns such as those found on Guernsey (Gansey) sweaters.
The cross section paper has a 0.25 inch square grid and is suitable for filet crochet, cross stitch, and lacis patterns.
Both have spaces to fill in a short description of the project, the date, and your notes. The left margin is wide enough to be punched to store your charts in a loose leaf binder. They are about 400 Kb each, so be aware before you start a download.
Individuals may download and print copies of the chart papers for personal use (honor system). Click the image for the kind you want, download the PDF file, then open and print it with Adobe Reader. If you find the chart paper useful and have a comfortable income, please make a donation to the MDA, UMDF, or a similar charitable organization of your choice.
Contributions to help support the costs of running this web site are also appreciated. There is a processing fee of 5% plus $0.30 deducted from donations.
For printing copies to hand out for a class, to distribute through your shop, or personalized copies for your own use, please buy a custom PDF file. Besides keeping me in business, I can add your contact information and a logo or artwork you supply. You will also have the option of choosing different grid sizes and other custom features. I will prepare and email you the PDF file as an attachment when I receive payment. Please specify the custom features you want in the special instructions section when you pay or contact me separately. I can also supply the PDF file, PageMaker source file, and any graphics files on a CD if you provide a regular mail address. If you pay a per page fee and shipping and handling, I can laser print these on 24 lb paper or 80 lb card stock.
